Freddie Gibbs is in full takeover mode.

After spending the last two years dropping classics with Alchemist (the Grammy-nominated Alfredo) and Madlib (Piñata, which just received a massive 83-track deluxe drop on Spotify), Gibbs just spent four hours in Austin chopping it up with Joe Rogan on his podcast.

Now, with a few major moves in the tuck, Freddie Gibbs is keeping things in motion with a fresh take on Gil-Scott Heron‘s “Winter in America.”

The song is taken off The Undefeated and Hollywood Records’ new project, Black History Always: Music For The Movement Vol. 2 – which also features an original song from Brent Faiyaz, Tobe Nwigwe’s cover of Harold & The Bluenotes’ “Wake Up Everybody,” a rendition of Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman” by Tinashe, and some spoken word by Infinity Song.
